When should I book my Fall family photos? | Adriatic Village Limited Edition Sessions | McKinney, Te
It's the end of October and in the photography world, that means we are as busy as a CPA in April. Usually, when the weather begins to change like it has been in the past couple of weeks, it reminds families to book their Fall family photos.
But if you've ever been the person in charge of booking photos, you may find that photographers are selling out their sessions by now. I sold out all of my weekend spots by the first of October.
The best time to contact your photographer to schedule your family Fall photo sessions is in the months of August and September.
At this point, your photographer should have flexibility on their calendar and you will be able to snag a coveted weekend evening spot on the calendar for October and November.
If you're the lucky few who get to be picky about exactly when you want photos, consider this:
In the DFW area, the trees begin to turn colors typically the last week of October.
If you would like to have a lot of fallen leaves on the ground, shoot for the middle or end of November.
If you would like to have chilly weather so you can really bundle up in sweaters and look the part for your Christmas card, consider December.
Also note that the earlier you get your digital images back, the more likely you are to run into an online sale for creating your own Christmas card before you run out of time to mail them.
This past Sunday, I photographed 4 families for their holiday cards. Limited edition sessions allow me to book up to 4 families in one evening and are perfect for families with children who are old enough to smile on command.
I am currently sold out for Fall limited edition photo sessions, but if you'd like to get on my mailing list for Spring family photo alerts, sign up here!
